王光乐,1976年出生于福建松溪县,现居北京,2000年毕业于地方 美术学院油画系。
作为N12艺术团体的创始人之1 ,王光乐以2002年开始的“水磨石”和2006年开始的“寿漆”系列作品,成为中国70后年轻艺术家的重要代表之1 。“水磨石”通过繁琐的过程把具有时代特征的建筑材料水磨石上的纤细 纹理再现到画布上,试图以有意 义和无情感的形态 表达1 种对历史性与经历痕迹的记忆。而“寿漆”则将1 种观念与风俗 ,即1 种东方人的生命哲学转化成绘画方式,在每天向画布上1 层层绘制覆盖颜料的苦行僧般的极限创作过程中,进行着自我参悟的精神体验,以期在快速消费的当代社会回归到对人类本体身份的思考。奥迪艺术与设计大奖赛。
