李智纲，1940年生于河北省威县。1960年入南开大学，1962年转学天津美院，1966年毕业。师承著名画家李鹤筹、孙其峰等。
现任《散文百家》编审，国家1 级美术师，中国美术家协会会员，中国画学研讨 会副会长，中国当代书画研讨 会名誉会长，河北省美术家协会常务理事，河北省花鸟画研讨 会副会长.
主功写意花鸟画，兼擅书法、艺术理论、散文创作。其花鸟画作品传统功力深厚，生活气息浓郁，风格独特，个性鲜明，自成1 格。1986年，花鸟画作品入选《中日水墨画交流展》。在日本获优秀奖。1990年，六幅花鸟画作品入选《全国第六次新人新作展》。1993年，花鸟画作品入选《北京国际书画博览会》，获优秀奖。
1994年，花鸟画《情系南北》入选《第八届全国美术作品展览》，并获河北省美展1 等奖。1990年在北京举办个展，1991年在天津举办个展。1993年为天安门城楼创作大幅花鸟画《万绿丛中1 品红》，为天安门城楼收藏 。还多次参加“当代中国花鸟画约请 展”，参加赴英国、日本、美国、东南亚等国展览，被国内外多家博物馆、美术馆、驻外使领馆收藏。
