夏大川，出生于河北邢台。现任中国美术家协会漫画艺委会副主任兼秘书长。1993年开始漫画和插图创作，至今在国内外各种报刊发表作品两千余件，在多家报刊开设专栏，并在日本《眼罩》杂志，法国《LACALIPOTE》杂志和伊朗《KAYHAN》杂志发表作品。漫画，插画，版画作品在海外几十个国家和地区展览，在世界漫画大赛上前后 获得九十个次要 国际奖项及特别奖。作品由亚洲，欧洲和美洲的二十几个国家的画廊、博物馆和个人收藏。

自2003年至2010年，前后 二十余次应邀出任各类国际漫画插画大赛评委。
2002年末发起成立了中国实验漫画沙龙，2005年其出版物被美国康奈尔大学选入中国古代 艺术史文献。
2003年10月参加“艺术从书法开始”中国前卫艺术展。
2003年2月参与组织了第六届世界漫画大会筹备委员会；2003年10月应邀出席了在北京国家博物馆举行的国际城市动漫艺术节。
2003年--2004年间，主编《当代世界漫画名家幽默画库》，并由漓江出版社出版有《漫画魔鬼辞典》。
2006年应邀参加波兰海报艺术展及西班牙巴塞罗那数字艺术展，同年版画作品入选澳大利亚国际艺术展。
2006年应邀赴日本东京出席第十1 届亚洲漫画展及论坛。
2008年应邀赴法国参加第九届RIDEP国际漫画论坛。
2012年数字艺术作品入选西班牙当代艺术展并用作展览海报。
