李树基，生于1943年11月，辽宁省大连市人，1960年考入沈阳鲁迅美术学院附中，1963年考入沈阳鲁迅美术学院本科。1968年毕业分配到辽宁省美术创作组（辽宁画院前身），进行油画创作至今。国家1 级画师（教授）。

曾任辽宁画院业务副院长（直至退休）。1989年当前 不断 活动在日本、新加坡、印度尼西亚及欧洲各国，从事文明 交流、油画创作及研讨 。现旅居新加坡、印度尼西亚。

创作大量油画作品，以人物题材为主。曾给中国、日本、新加坡、印度尼西亚历届领导人画过油画肖像。1 些油画作品在中国美术馆、新加坡晚晴博物馆都有收藏。作品有《盼》、《救星》、《家》等。
