Tan Ping, born in 1960 in Chengde, China; native place: Yantai, Shandong Province. My work is a gradual transition from the basic figure of a circle to the integration of micro cells, looking for the exact position between macro and micro. The form of the image is gradually decomposed into a moving point from a large space-filled circle, constantly dissociating in the uncertain balance of time and space. Through the one-time coverage of color, the surface image is gradually hidden behind, and eventually disappears in the surge. Behind the colorful flat surface, there is another depth and level, with implications and metaphors, meaning and symbols.

 In 1984, he received a bachelor's degree from the Printing Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts; lecturer from the Printing Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts from 1984 to 1989; scholarship from 1989 to 1994 from Germany for cultural and artistic exchanges; master's degree from the Department of Free Painting of the Berlin University of Arts; Dean and professor of the School of Design of the Central Academy of Fine Arts from 2002 to 2003; and Vice-Dean of the Central Academy of Fine Arts from 2003 to present.
