姚建华回族，云南昆明人。擅长水彩画。1961年毕业于昆明市美术学校。昆明市文联《滇池》文学月刊美编。《格子窗》、《阳台》入选第二届全国水彩、粉画展，《格子窗》获优秀奖；《柴堆，奢侈的燃烧》入选第八届全国美展；《十1 月的野核桃树》入选第三届全国水彩、粉画展；《红土绿荫》获第九届全国美展铜奖。出版《水彩画选》。
