1962年生于河北。
1986年考入北京师范学院美术系油画专业。
1987年在北京师范学院美术系举办三人联展。
1988年中国美术馆举办的《北京十六景美展》，参展作品《圆明园》。在北京师范学院美术馆举办《二人联展》。
1989年中国美术馆举办的《中华人民共和国建国四十周年、北京和平解放四十周年美术作品展览》，参展作品《野村》、《阳光》。新加坡举办《第1 届中国古代 油画展》，参展作品《野村》。
1990年毕业，获学士学位。北京师范学院美术馆《八六级美术系毕业生展览》。中国天坛展览馆举办的《北京市体育美术作品展》，参展作品《老将》。
1991年新加坡《中国古代 油画展》。丽都假日酒店展厅举办首次个人画展。中国美术馆《庆祝中国共产党成立七十周年美术作品展》，参展作品《迎亲》。中国美术馆《北京市庆祝中国共产党成立七十周年美术作品展》，参展作品《赶集》。新加坡举办《第二届中国古代 油画展》，参展作品《静寂的高原》。
1992年中国美术馆举办《北京纪念毛泽东同志〈在延安文艺座谈会上的讲话〉发表5 十周年美术作品展》，参展作品《被遗忘的萨克斯风》。国际艺苑美术馆举办的《北京油画展》，参展作品《远处还是那么多雪》。
1993年国际艺苑美术馆举办的《北京春季油画展》，参展作品《赶集》。新加坡举办的《神州风采》，参展作品《小女孩》。香港举办的《中国油画佳作展》，参展作品《蒙古老人》。中国美术馆举办的《‘93中国油画年展》，参展作品《高粱熟了》。
1994年国际艺苑美术馆举办《中国青年画展》，参展作品《高粱熟了》。中国军事博物馆举办的《第八届全国美术作品展览》，参展作品《落凤沟》。国际艺苑美术馆举办的《北京油画展》，参展作品《乡村酒店》。
1995年中国美术馆举办《北京之风》油画约请 展，参展作品《塞北八月》、《灿烂田野》。
1996年在《中国油画精品展》，参展作品《黄金岁月》。正式成为香港十三艺廊的签约画家至今。
1999年在香港十三艺廊举办个人画展，并首次出版个人画集《金色天地》。
2000年出版《当代名家油画精品》个人专辑。
2002年《美术》第四期，青年美术家图文专版。由著名油画家艾轩先生撰文“占山的金色天地”，图为《秋葵》、《落凤沟》、《绚丽家园》。3月18-3月24日，《北京青年周刊》，第二十三页、45页图文。
2004年1月，《中华文明 画报》，作品《塞北八月》。2月20日，《购书指南》头版，作品《有牛车的场院》局部。4月12-4月18日，《北京青年周刊》，第二十页图文。4月，《中华文明 报》美术周刊，第四版“画苑”，文由艾轩先生写的“占山的世界”，图为作品《火红十月》局部，《塞北八月》。4月20日，《中国文明 报》画苑，第四版发表“向理想 猛进向梦想追随 ”——“1 路同行油画展”研讨会侧记，图为作品《村野人家》和研讨会照片。5月，《中国文明 画报》第六十三期，中国当代油画十三家。
