丁薇1955年毕业于鲁迅美术学院工艺系。毕业后在哈尔滨、沈阳长时间 从事工艺美术方面的设计、研讨 和技术管理工作。曾任辽宁省工艺美术学会理事，沈阳市工艺美术学会秘书长，高级工艺美术师，中国美术家协会会员。1985年调至苏州科技学院建筑系任教，开始尝试粉画，并多次获奖。

Ding Wei was graduated from craft of Lu Xun academy of fine arts to fasten 1955. The pursues respect of arts and crafts for a long time in Harbin, Shenyang design after graduation, research and technical government work. Ever held the post of Liaoning to save arts and crafts to learn director, secretary-general of society of Shenyang city arts and crafts, division of advanced arts and crafts, chinese artist academician. Tone built a department to teach to institute of Suzhou science and technology 1985, begin to try powdery picture, and for many times bear the palm.
